Isabelle VISENTIN

Niçoise for five generations, Isabelle VISENTIN is Deputy Mayor of Nice, President of the Heart of Nice territory (Nice center). Former president of the very dynamic Friends of the Vows association, she now puts her energy at the service of our city. In charge of the city center, it is she who coordinates and supervises municipal services (development, security, attractiveness, environment, etc.). A great friend of our Alliance Française, Isabelle maintains many friendly relations with our former students, whom she enjoys meeting during her travels. She joined our Board of Directors in 2021.


Marc WYLER

Holder of a Master's degree in neuro-linguistic programming, Marc is certified IOBSP (broker), IAS 1 (insurer), Intermediary in banking operations, real estate agent and property administrator. Founder and manager of a brokerage company Top Pret and SwissMed Immo real estate agency, he also participates in training operations for business leaders in Nice. Very involved in community life, Marc was advisor to the Nice Côte d'Azur Economic Chamber, Member of the FNAIM Lab National Commission and administrator of AMPEI. Marine rifle, National Defense medalist, Marc spent two seasons playing in Pro A basketball in Nice and also participated in the America's Cup with Chalenge France Yves PAJOT (1987). A long-time friend of our Alliance Française, he joined our Board of Directors in 2021.

Director
David VANDEVELDE


Holder of three Master’s degrees: Public Law and International Law at the University of Aix‐Marseille, and Political Science at the University College London (UCL). Three time highest scoring scholar, David first taught European Law at UCL. His career then continued at the Sichuan International Studies University (China) where he founded and directed the Center for Specialized Francophone Studies and the Overseas Education Centre. Assistant to the president of the University, he joined the board of the University and became one of the few foreigners established in the Chinese civil service. An expert to the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie in Asia-Pacific, authorized to correct IELTS, a specialist in teaching second-language disciplines, he is the author of several publications and manuals.
Director of our Alliance since 2015, David pursues a policy of recruitment and premises expansion. He thus initiated and supervised the establishment of our mini campus, including the acquisition of a student residence with 75 studios, a restaurant, a media centre and numerous classrooms.

Jean-Philippe PEREZ


A graduate of the Grenoble Institute of Political Studies, Jean-Philippe PEREZ then obtained a Diploma in Advanced Studies (Oxford University) and a Master’s in Political Science (Paris 1 Sorbonne University). He taught general, business and legal French for three years in London (St. Georges School and Conrad Executive Language Training) and was a professor of Management at a business school (IPAG) for six years.
Executive Assistant (2000), and then Deputy Director (2016) of our Alliance, Jean-Philippe is the guarantor of our quality and notably manages our labeling mechanisms (which are always obtained with the maximum score). This label encouraged the professionalization and extension of the Alliance Française de Nice Côte d´Azur, allowing the acquisition of a student residence with 75 studios, a restaurant, a media centre and multiple classrooms.

Marlène DODIN


Holder of a Master’s degree in Language Science and Journalism as well as a Master’s in FLE - all obtained with honors - Marlène DODIN has sound experience as a teacher, educational manager and instructor of FLE teachers in France and abroad. In particular, she was the educational director of the Alliance Française de Quito in Ecuador for seven years, where she supervised the work of 40 teachers. She is also a DELF/DALF teacher instructor & examination designer for France Education International. Finally, she is a lecturer at the Université Côte d´Azur where she teaches FOS didactics and assessment to FLE master students.
Head of Teaching at our Alliance since 2017, Marlène is responsible for recruiting, training, evaluating and supervising our entire education team. She also directs our numerous partnership programs with the Côte d´Azur University (integrated preparation classes, university diplomas, summer school programs etc.). And working alongside her, as her assistant, Ms. Christelle BOCCHIARDO.

Holder of a Master’s in FLE and a graduate in English, Patricia LOUZAI has been teaching French for over 15 years and has been able to manage interns in the Master FLE university program. She is authorized to examine the TCF oral expression test, she has also designed tests and participated in the examination board of the University of Nice. Patricia is also a painter and photographer, registered with the Maison des Artistes.


Specialist in legal and business French, Colette has a degree in Business Law and Economics. She has also obtained the Proficiency in English certificate from Trinity College in London. Colette BRIFFAUT is an examiner for the Paris Chamber of Commerce and has been teaching French for professional purposes for more than 30 years in companies, business schools and at the Institute of Languages of the Côte d’Azur University.


Franco-Italian and holder of two Master’s degrees (FLE and Italian), Sten has been teaching both languages at all levels for over ten years. Examiner for the DELF and the TCF examinations, he is also co-author of the handbook Writing and Management of the Whiteboard (Hachette editions). Additionally, Sten is a Member of the Board of the Department of Language Sciences/French as a Foreign Language at the University of Nice Côte d'Azur and a lecturer for several teaching units: Initiation to Research, Entry into the Professional World, Phonetic Specificities of French as a Foreign Language, Comparative Phonetics, Phonetic Correction Techniques applied to FLE and Didactics of Grammar.
And lastly, Sten is also a teacher instructor. He has worked with many large companies and is active in the field of translation.


A graduate in Language Sciences, FLE and Philosophy, Anaïs MATER has more than 15 years of teaching experience. After working in the United States and Vietnam, she teaches French, Literature, Civilization and Expression in business schools and language schools. She also participates in the design of teaching methods, including the writing and management of the textbook method Cosmopolite (ed.Hachette). Anaïs is also the co-author of the Cosmopolite 1, 2, 3, 4 et 5 (Hachette editions), used worldwide by thousands of students.


Holder of a Master’s in FLE, Emilie PARDO has ten years of experience in teaching French and English. She is also a TCF proofreader after having been an examiner for both the TCF and the DELF examinations. After working in the UK, Emilie has been teaching at Alliance Française since 2006.
She participated in writing the handbook Writing and Management of the Whiteboard (Hachette editions). Emilie is also the co-author of the Cosmopolite 1, 2, 3, 4 et 5 (Hachette editions), used worldwide by thousands of students.


Tara DORNIER
Teacher

Holder of a Master FLE, Tara DORNIER is qualified to correct and administer the DELF/DALF exams as well as the TCF oral expression exam. She also obtained a degree in English Language from Trinity College in Ireland. Tara has taught at various Alliance Françaises in India and, since coming back to Nice in 2012, she teaches French and English. She also participates as an instructor within the framework of our teacher training workshops.


Holder of a Master’s in FLE and Applied Foreign languages, Olivier LELONG is also authorized to administer the TCF as well as to correct DELF/DALF examinations (A1-C1). After a first professional experience as a project manager in a translation agency, he turned to FLE and has been teaching at Alliance Française since 2013.


Holder of a Master’s in FLE and a qualified guide-interpreter (national and regional), Magali TUBIN’s first professional experience was in tourism. She has worked and taught in many countries; Australia, Germany, Austria, Spain and Canada. She is also a qualified examiner of the TCF oral expression examination.


Lorelei MARTINSSE

Holder of a Master’s degree in FLE, Loreleï MARTINSSE has ten years of experience in teaching French. She is also an examiner for the TCF examination after being a proofreader and examiner for the DELF examination. Teacher of French as a Foreign Language in Chile and instructor of French as a Language of Integration in Paris (Mairie de Paris and CEFIL), Loreleï also participated in the design of educational materials for the Alliance Française Cavilam.


Holder of an English-Spanish Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree in FLE and authorized to administer and correct the DELF and DALF C1 examinations, Manon has taught French in France (Paris) and abroad (Ukraine, India) within Alliance Françaises, universities and language schools. She has worked as the Head of Teaching, Cultural Events Manager and Head of the Examination Department at the Alliance Française in Daejeon in South Korea. Passionate about the French-speaking world, she has set up a French-speaking culinary festival and offers a course on this theme to students preparing to integrate into the Master FLE degree. She also specializes in the design and use of games and fun activities in the classroom.


Holder of a Master’s degree and a DAEFLE diploma, and qualified to administer the DELF and TEF examinations, Gaëlle has been teaching French to foreigners for more than 10 years. Her previous experiences have allowed her to develop many projects in areas such as content creation, animation of teacher training modules in Nice and abroad, as well as the creation of online exercises.


Annie BERTRAND
Associate Professor

An Associate Professor of “Lettres Classiques”, Annie has spent a large part of her career at the Lycée Masséna, teaching some of the best preparatory classes for integration into the French grandes écoles.
Passionate about teaching and the transmission of knowledge, Annie joined our team after her retirement from the Public Education system. She teaches our students in our Integrated Preparation Course for the Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language and regularly, and voluntarily, dispenses popular literature lectures.


Alicia DI MAGGIO

Holder of a Master’s degree in FLE (Côte d´Azur University), Alicia DI MAGGIO has ten years of experience in teaching French. After having been an examiner for the DELF examination, she is now a member of the jury for the TCF oral examinations. She participates in the implementation of educational scenarios to facilitate the entry of the complete beginner student, including those who are illiterate, into the French language by prioritizing action.


Valérie AGHINA

Franco-Italian, and holder of a Master’s degree in Modern Letters, FLE and an accredited DELF, DALF and TCF examiner, Valérie has been teaching French and Italian to foreigners for over twenty years. She worked in Italy for a long time, with Alliance Françaises as well as at the University of Venice. Specialized in preparing for university examinations, Valérie also participated in the drafting of a DELF preparation course for the Mondadori.


Laétitia Y

Laetitia Y is an examiner for the TCF and the DELF examinations. She has been an instructor for French teachers abroad. She has more than 6 years of experience teaching French and has worked in India and Nigeria in particular. She regularly participates in the design of educational scenarios.


Jérémy JOLIVALT

Holder of a master's degree in French as a foreign language and a graduate in political science from IEP Grenoble, Jérémy has been teaching since 2015 both for Alliance Française and within universities. He has professional experience in Ghana and Colombia. Qualified for DELF / DALF, he also took part in the oral exams and corrections of all level tests.
Jérémy likes to combine learning the French language with debates and games around the discovery of different current Francophone cultures and counter-cultures.


Geoffrey ABBAS

Holder of a DAEFLE, Geoffrey is also a certified examiner for the TCF. He also regularly runs guided tours of the French Riviera. For two generations, his family has welcomed and helped foreign students to understand the French language and its uses. He is passionate about cinema, cooking, and the debates that punctuate his classroom practices.


Mathieu DELAMARRE

Holder of a Master in Modern Letters, a Bachelor in FLE and a License in History of Art, Mathieu has more than 20 years of experience in teaching French, particularly as a foreign language and integration language. Also proofreader for the TCF tests, examiner for both the TCF and the DELF, he is also a trainer of trainers and can empower other trainers to correct and assess the DELF / DALF at all levels.
After having worked in turn in France and then in Thailand, within AF Bangkok, for the French Embassy and for major luxury brands, Mathieu Delamarre now works in our Alliance Française. Currently a designer of evaluations, positioning tests and educational progressions, in continuous training thanks to MOOCs, Mathieu Delamarre never ceases to develop his classroom practices.

Irish, holder of a DCU and a DIT in Communication Studies and Film Production, Colm has been teaching English for almost twenty years in Ireland as well as France.

Anastasia NIKULINA

Of Russian nationality, with a degree in Language and Psychology from the Côte d´Azur University, Anastasia is passionate about diffusing her mother tongue and Russian culture. Her course is based on different learning methods: audio, writing and oral expression, for an optimal, progressive acquisition of the language. Particularly at ease in private lessons, she knows how to adapt to the professional sphere of the learner.


Irina ALBUTOVA

Of Russian nationality, Irina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogical Training (with merit - Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University), a Master's degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (Côte d'Azur University) and a Diploma in Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language (Moscow University). She has previously taught Russian at the Côte d'Azur University, as well as in China and Russia.


Kiah LAWRENCE

American, and with nearly ten years of experience teaching English, Kiah is a graduate of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She has acquired educational skills and experiences in many foreign countries. Teaching English both in schools and businesses, Kiah has taught in New York, Madrid and London, as well as in the United Arab Emirates.

Of Japanese nationality, Yoko obtained a Master's degree in French Literature from Fukuoka University, then went on to further her studies at Platon College (Canada). She then obtained a Master's degree in Translation (Babel University). Yoko has been teaching Japanese for nearly fifteen years, at Asia Nihongo Gakuin, then at Espace Lyon-Japon and finally within the Passerelle Franco-Japanese organisation.


Diana BALLEN

Of Colombian nationality, Diana obtained a Master's degree in Language Teaching (ECCI University of Bogota) as well as a Master's degree in French as a Foreign Language (Côte d'Azur University). She has carried out educational missions at the Alliance Française in Bogota and at the Harvard Science and Culture High School in Bogota.


Diego Andrés GARCÍA CORTÉS

Holder of a Spanish Bachelor’s degree, Diégo Andrés went on to obtain a Master's degree in Teaching Spanish (Côte d´Azur University). Educator and linguist at heart, he also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English, a Master’s degree in FLE (Université Côte d'Azur), the DELF accreditation as well as the PRO FLE certifications and the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA - Cambridge).

A graduate of Business Administration at the Sichuan International Studies University (preparatory class), then at the University of Lyon (Bachelor’s degree - top foreign student of her class), Tian then obtained a Master's degree in FLE at the University of Artois. She then taught French for three years at the Alliance Française de Chongqing. In France since 2015, she is responsible for Chinese lessons at the Lycée du Parc Impérial as well as at the Vernier College (employee of the Ministry of National Education).

Of Japanese nationality, Fumihiro was educated in English at LSI Auckland (New Zealand) and then graduated in Teaching Japanese at the Human Academy (Japan). He then obtained the ACTFL OPI Diploma, qualifying him to administer official Japanese language tests. A Japanese teacher for over ten years, Fumihiro learned French... at the Alliance Française Nice Côte d´Azur!

Holder of a Master's degree in Language Science (University of Montpellier), Amjad worked at the Jordanian Embassy in Paris for nearly 15 years as a Chief Translator - Interpreter. He has long been a friend of the Alliance Française.


Valérie AGHINA

Franco-Italian, and holder of a Master’s degree in Modern Letters, FLE and an accredited DELF, DALF and TCF examiner, Valérie has been teaching French and Italian to foreigners for over twenty years. She worked in Italy for a long time, with Alliance Françaises as well as at the University of Venice. Specialized in preparing for university examinations, Valérie also participated in the drafting of a DELF preparation course for the Mondadori.

After a sound experience at the Catholic Institute of Paris (CIP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then the Alliance Française de Paris, Nadia joined our Alliance in 2003.
In charge of accounting matters, Nadia manages the finances of our Alliance, the Résidence Alliance Française as well as our Café. She was one of the main driving forces behind the professionalization of our establishment and played a key role in obtaining the prestigious QUALITÉ Label [flə] ★★★


With thirteen years of experience in public relations for a tourism agency, Martine joined our Alliance in 2009, where she now serves as Head of Administration. Since 2015, Martine has also directly assisted the director in his missions. She oversees all our internal administrative procedures and takes care of relations with our service providers. At the Head of the Accommodation Department too, Martine manages our network of around one hundred host families and has been in charge of our Résidence Alliance Française since 2019 (a student residence that she has greatly contributed to creating).


With more than 35 years of experience in the catering industry, André has been the Manager of the Café de l’Alliance since 2019. As such, he not only ensures the proper functioning of the establishment, but also manages the stock, purchases and supplier relations. An almost independent local institution himself, André knows all our students as well as all the neighborhood merchants! He is assisted in his missions by our chef, Florent PLUMAIL.


Christelle BOCCHIARDO
Assistant Head of Teaching

Holder of a Master’s degree in FLE (with merit) and authorized to administer the oral examination of the TCF and TEF, Christelle has been the Assistant Head of Teaching since 2018. As a teacher trainer, she was able to share her expertise during training workshops abroad during various congresses (ICTs, interculturality, differentiated pedagogy, fun activities in the classroom etc.). Christelle is also a lecturer at the University of Nice Côte d'Azur in the Language Sciences department (Master FLE) where she teaches Writing Didactics as well as the use of ICT Tools for Teaching Remotely.
Assistant Head of Teaching t since 2018, she supports the Head of Teaching in all of her missions. Christelle notably initiated and supervised the modernization and digitization of our educational and administrative tools.


Ali YOUNSI
Maintenance Manager

Trained in Tunisia, Ali YOUNSI has a rich professional and international experience leading him to live in three countries and occupy positions within large groups such as Fiera and Bartolini. Trilingual, Ali YOUNSI is particularly at ease in an intercultural environment. Extremely versatile, he performs maintenance, painting, carpentry, electrical and plumbing assignments.
Ali is also responsible for the proper running of the student residence and is operational to resolve any issues.


Vinicio VILLALTA
Student Residence Attendant

Bilingual in French and Spanish, and a graduate in Computer Engineering, Vinicio has been a friend of the Alliance Française (that of Quito, then ours) for more than ten years. Living just across from our student residence, he is on call in the evening and during the weekend to respond to any emergencies.


Of Brazilian nationality, Aline graduated in Letters from the University of São Paulo (bac +4) and holds a Masters in Information and Communication from the University of Côte d´Azur. Her career has led her to hold the positions of press officer for the Publicis and Saatchi groups, web analyst (Máquina Public Relation) and community manager (WPP group). She holds the position of administrative assistant in charge of digital presence.


Emna BEJAOUI
Maintenance Assistant
(at the AF since 2018)
Fluent in French, Italian and Arabic, Emna is also a healthcare professional with a Nursing Diploma in Tunisia. A great friend of the Alliance, she performs part of her duties as a volunteer.


Florent PLUMAIL

A graduate of the Lycée Hôtelier Paul Augier, Florent obtained a BEP in the catering trade and participated in a work-study program at Château le Cagnard (a Michelin starred restaurant). He then worked at the restaurant Univers for seven years, alongside his father, a Michelin-starred chef. Florent then worked as a Chef de Rang at Mori’s Bar for two years, and finally as a Catering Manager at Temple’s Bar.
The Alliance is very proud to have him as our chef since 2020.

With a degree in Journalism and Biology, Echo advises and represents the Alliance Française de Nice in East Asia. With extensive experience in international scientific and academic relations (acquired in particular from the University of Montpellier), Echo has held management positions in several companies in Singapore and China. She regularly gives conferences in intercultural communication.


Holder of a Doctorate in French Language and a sworn translator, Bijan advises and represents our Alliance Française in Iran. With extensive experience at the French Institute of Iran and at the French Embassy in Iran, in 2013 he created the Institut Arta Danesh International, a private body approved by the Iranian Ministry of Higher Education, responsible for promoting sending Iranian students to France.


Shanel MOUAT

After studying in South Africa, Shanel obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Politics (London School of Economics), and then a Master's degree in Strategy and International Management (Côte d’Azur University). She is co-founder of Woza Ekhaya Safaris (Zimbabwe) and has been vice-president of the Global Shapers Nice, Youth Division of the World Economic Forum, since 2018.
Contributing to the modernization and dynamization of our school, Shanel learned French... at the Alliance Française de Nice Côte d´Azur! She also speaks Afrikaans, Ndebele, and has some basic notions of Mandarin.
