My French courses
The General French course is divided into two parts, with the aim of working on all skill areas (oral and written comprehension, production and interaction combined with linguistic and cultural objectives) using the Défi French method (9:00 - 11:30). Both Standard and Intensive courses include this syllabus. The Intensive course reinforces language points through oral and written communication activities and develops the cultural aspect (11:30 - 13:00).
Super Intensive course includes: Intensive classes from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 13:00 as well as Written French workshop on Mondays from 13:30 to 15:30 and Oral French workshop on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 13:30 to 15:30.
The Super Intensive and Standard courses are reserved for students who have already studied French and have a minimum level of A1.2. The Intensive course is open to all levels and is compulsory for absolute beginners.
Once you have completed registration you must take a placement test. You will receive an email a few weeks before the start of your course inviting you to choose a day and time for the placement test.
Our teachers speak at least one other language (English and/or another European language) but all our courses are taught in French.
There are around a dozen students per class, although it depends on the group and the time of year. The limit is 18 students per class.
We welcome students of all ages from 16 upwards.
At the end of your course you can obtain a certificate of attendance. If you have completed a language level you can obtain a French level certificate. These certificates can be collected at the reception. They have no official value.

When you purchase courses you have 7 days from the date of purchase to cancel your booking and request a refund. You can read our terms and conditions here.
If you need to postpone the start date of your course and you have purchased your course more than 7 days ago, you can contact us by email. Courses already paid for must be taken within the current year.

Visas
Non-European citizens (residing outside the Schengen area) may need a visa to stay in France for more than three months. To find out which procedure applies to you, please contact first the French consulate or Embassy in your country of residence.
The Alliance Française Nice Côte d'Azur does not require a specific visa for registration. Contact the French representation in your country to find out about the relevant process.
If you need to apply for a student visa, we can provide you with a certificate of registration (also called Letter of Acceptance) indicating that you are registered at our school for a maximum period of 48 weeks. To do this you need to make an initial payment corresponding to your registration in the Intensive course (20 hours per week) for 8 weeks (including registration fees and books).
You can click here to pay this deposit on our website. Once your visa has been accepted, you will be required to pay the remaining tuition fees. We are not responsible for the visa application and cannot assist you in this process.
If you are refused the visa we will refund your payment with the exception of a €100 administration fee and upon presentation of the refusal letter.
